Angels Roster Moves: Jason Bulger and Brian Stokes Activated From DL

Before tonight’s game in Seattle, and now that active roster limits are expanded from 25 to 40, the Angels have activated a pair of pitchers with right shoulder issues from the disabled list.

Jason Bulger, who was on the DL since June 12 with a right shoulder strain, was activated. He has a 3.74 ERA in 22 games this season. Bulger was acquired from the Diamondbacks in February 2006 in exchange for Alberto Callaspo, who is now back with the Angels.

Brian Stokes, who was on the DL since May 11 with right shoulder fatigue, was also activated. Stokes has only pitched in 16 innings this season and has a 7.31 ERA, but that was negatively affected by his final three games before being placed on the disabled list, when he gave up 11 runs in just 3 2/3 innings. Stokes was acquired by the Angels in January from the Mets for Gary Matthews, Jr.
