The Los Angeles Galaxy have claimed rookie goalkeeper Brian Perk off waivers from the Philadelphia Union. Perk is a native of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA and was drafted in the fourth round of this year’s MLS draft.
Brian Perk was a star at UCLA, playing on the Galaxy’s U-20 team, and played on the US U-20 team in the 2007 and 2009 U-20 World Cup.
He is expected to join the Galaxy on Fri Aug. 6th and to be available for the Saturday game against Real Madrid. Perk is yet to appear in an MLS match, but did appear in friendlies against Celtic and Manchester United.
