Dodgers Juggle Rotation, Plus Other Roster Notes

The Dodgers rearranged their starting rotation a bit today, announcing that Carlos Monasterios would start the finale against the Brewers on Thursday afternoon. Chad Billingsley, who was scheduled to start Thursday, will instead be pushed to Saturday.

Billingsley experienced tightness in his right calf on Saturday night against the Reds, while covering first base in the second inning. He was pulled from the game with a 7-3 lead with two outs in the sixth inning because of the calf issues.

In other news, the club optioned catcher A.J. Ellis to Triple A Albuquerque to make room for Rod Barajas, who was claimed on Sunday. Barajas is starting at catcher tonight, batting eighth. Ellis is expected to be back with the club in eight days, when active roster limits expand from 25 to 40 players.
