Clayton Kershaw, who was suspended last week for five games for hitting Aaron Rowand of the Giants after both benches were warned, has dropped his appeal of said suspension, per Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times:
Clayton Kershaw dropped his appeal and will start serving his five-game suspension tomorrow. He is slated to start Sunday in San Francisco.
Chad Billingsley, Hiroki Kuroda, and Vicente Padilla are starting the three Dodger games in San Diego tomorrow through Thursday, which leaves Carlos Monasterios for either Friday or Saturday against the Giants, plus one open spot.
The other start could be filled by James McDonald, who is currently on the 25-man roster, or John Ely, who started Sunday for Triple A Albuquerque. The trade deadline is Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time, so another possibility would be a new acquisition making a start for the Dodgers.
