Callaspo has played mostly third base this season for the Royals, after manning second base last year. He is hitting .275/.308/.410 in 88 games this season.

O’Sullivan, a 22-year old who was drafted by the Angels in the third round in 2005, was recalled on Monday, picking up the win by allowing two runs in six innings against the Yankees.

The 20-year old Smith, now out of the wild, wild west, has a 5.60 ERA in 19 starts through three minor league levels for the Angels this season. Smith was drafted in the eighth round by the Angels in 2007
