Angels Drop Game To Mariners In Extra Innings, 2-1

Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) – Jose Lopez hit an RBI single in the top of the 10th inning, as the Seattle Mariners defeated the Angels, 2-1, to avoid a four-game sweep at Angel Stadium.

Seattle snapped an eight-game skid to Los Angeles in the process. The Angels, though, still lead the season series 10-3.

Jason Vargas was solid in the start, allowing one run on just four hits in 7 2/3 frames. The left-hander also fanned a career-high nine batters and walked one. Brandon League (6-6) tossed a scoreless 1 1/3 innings of relief to get the win.
