Today, the Davey O'Brien Foundation announced their award watch list and USC sophomore quarterback Matt Barkley was selected to be part of the top 30 quarterbacks that are part of the list.

The Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award is the most prestigious award given to the top quarterback in the nation following the 2010-11 season. The selection process includes gathering the player's performance information of the year prior and expectations heading into the 2010-11 season.

Matt Barkley joins Oklahoma's Landry Jones, Rutgers' Tom Savage, Stanford's Andrew Luck, and Southern Methodist's Kyle Padron as the only sophomore quarterbacks to be selected. The rest of the list includes 13 juniors and 13 seniors.

Besides Barkley and Luck, Arizona's Nick Foles and Washington's Jake Locker were the other quarterbacks selected from the Pac-10.
