Report: Brian Shaw Close To Becoming Cavaliers Coach

New, 1 comment

Lakers assistant coach Brian Shaw appears close to being named coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers.  Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times reported that Shaw met with Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert and general manager Chris Grant Monday night, and on Tuesday was "close to accepting deal."

Brian Windhorst of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported via Twitter that a deal was close:

Brian Shaw still is not officially #Cavs coach, sources say, but becoming pretty obvious he's the guy once contract is worked out.

Shaw won three titles with the Lakers as a player, from 2000 to 2002, and has been an assistant coach with the team since 2004.
