(Sports Network) - The Anaheim Ducks will attempt to wrap a three-game homestand perfect this evening when they welcome the Nashville Predators to the Honda Center. Victories over the Lightning and Penguins on this stand have given the Ducks their first two-game winning streak of the season. They have been solid at home in 2010-11, going 4-1-1.
After an overtime victory over Tampa Bay on Wednesday, Anaheim got goals from Bobby Ryan, Ryan Getzlaf and Saku Koivu in a 3-2 triumph over Pittsburgh on Friday.
Teemu Selanne had an assist in his 1,200th career game, becoming the 87th player and 10th European-born skater to reach that milestone in NHL history. Jonas Hiller made 30 saves.
The 40-year-old Selanne has 15 points this season, giving support scoring to the top trio of Ryan, Getzlaf and Corey Perry. Those three have combined for 17 goals and 43 points this season.
"The three of us have chemistry," Ryan said. "We know where each other are and we play well off the puck. The most important thing is to realize that we can't all have it all at the same time and we have to support each other better."
Ryan, Getzlaf and Perry were all held off the scoresheet when the Ducks visited the Predators on Oct. 9, resulting in a 4-1 setback that was their third in four meetings with Nashville.
The Ducks, though, have still won eight of their last 10 at home over the Predators.
Hiller made 45 saves in the loss, falling to 2-4-0 with 2.18 goals-against average lifetime when facing Nashville.
That victory over the Ducks in the Predators' season opener began a 5-0-3 start to the season for Nashville, but the club has dropped four straight in regulation since. That includes a setback in each of the first three contests of a five-game swing that featured a 4-1 setback in Los Angeles on Saturday.
Pekka Rinne allowed four goals on 22 shots before being lifted in favor of Anders Lindback, who made nine saves. Shane O'Brien finally got the Predators on the board when he scored his first goal of the season with 2:24 left in regulation.
"Everything that we know [the Kings] can do, they did tonight and we didn't really prevent them from doing a whole lot," Predators head coach Barry Trotz said. "They got off to a good start, they had a good low game going, and they beat us to the pucks all over the ice."
Forward Martin Erat missed the game with an upper-body injury for the Predators, who will try to avoid losing five straight for the first time since Jan. 18-29.
Rinne will likely get a chance to rebound in goal tonight and is 4-2-2 with a 2.06 GAA lifetime against the Ducks. He made 29 saves in the season-opening win.
