NFL Schedule, Week 9

Today's NFL schedule features some good matchups, highlighted by afternoon games with playoff implications. Here is the television schedule for today's NFL schedule:

↵

10 a.m.: San Diego Chargers at Houston Texans

↵

If the season ended today, both of these teams would be on the outside looking in at the playoffs. Both the 3-5 Chargers and the 4-3 Texans will look to build toward a strong second half with a win today. San Diego is winless on the road.

↵

1 p.m.: Kansas City Chiefs at Oakland Raiders

↵

I don't know what's more shocking: that this game is a battle of the top two teams of the AFC West, or that the Raiders actually have an offense. The Raiders have scored 92 points in their last two games, and are fourth in the league, scoring 26.5 points per game.

↵

1.p.m.: New York Giants at Seattle Seahawks

↵

This game is a battle of division leaders, but since one of those divisions is the NFC West, perhaps that is misleading. The 4-3 Seahawks are atop their division, but have been outscored on the season, as has every team in the NFC West. Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck is out for the Seahawks, so expect a Giants win. However, strange things happen in the Pacific Northwest, where the Seahawks are 3-0 at home.

↵

5 p.m.: Dallas Cowboys at Green Bay Packers

↵

Before the season, this looked like a much better matchup than it is today. Look for the Packers to improve to 6-3 at the expense of the hapless Cowboys.
