The Los Angeles Clippers begin a short two-day, two-game road trip tonight against Kevin Love and the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center in Minneapolis. The Clippers, who are off to a 1-10 start, are 0-5 on the road this season. The Clippers have lost nine straight road games, dating back to last season, and have lost 20 of their last 21 games away from home.
Kevin Love has taken the league by storm in the last week and a half. The former UCLA Bruin leads the league in rebounding, on both the offensive and defensive end, averaging a total of 14.3 rebounds per contest. His 5.2 offensive rebounds per game would lead the Timberwolves in total rebounding. He had the first 30-point, 30-rebound game in the NBA in 28 years last Friday against the Knicks, and had a 20-20 game against the Lakers at Staples Center last week.
The matchup of Love and Blake Griffin should be an exciting one. Griffin is averaging 16.1 points and 10.2 rebounds per game this season, one of seven players in the league to average 16-10. Griffin is tied for fifth in the league with 41 offensive rebounds this season.
The Clippers won the season series last year with Minnesota, taking three of four games. The Timberwolves lead the all-time series 44-38, and are 25-14 at home against the Clippers. Tonight's 5 p.m. PST game will be televised on Prime Ticket.
