The Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks finish their preseason schedule tonight with a contest at the Honda Center in Anaheim. The Kings are 3-1-1 this preseason, while the Ducks are 2-4-0.
Ryan Getzlaf is tied for seventh in the NHL in preseason scoring, with seven points (a goal, and six assists), while Corey Perry is tied for sixth with four goals.
The Kings have 32 players on their preseason roster. Thomas LaRocca of NHL.com previews the Kings' roster battles:
With the most recent roster cuts and Sunday morning's "announcement" on the LA Kings Insider blog that Jonathan Bernier has won the Kings back up netminder job, not a lot of spots are up for grabs on the Kings roster.
That being said, the five guys still battling for roster spots, forwards — Kyle Clifford, Rich Clune, Trevor Lewis, Andrei Loktionov and Brayden Schenn — all will be in the lineup for Sunday’s preseason finale.
The Ducks open their regular season Friday night in Detroit to face the Red Wings.
The Kings open their season Saturday night in Vancouver to face the Canucks.
