Kings End Road Trip Facing Dallas Stars At American Airlines Center

(Sports Network) - The Los Angeles Kings try to wrap up a five-game road trip with a winning record this evening when they visit the Dallas Stars, who have yet to pick up a victory on their current six-game homestand at American Airlines Center.

The Kings have won six of nine to begin the season, but were dealt a 3-1 setback in Chicago last night, falling to 2-2-0 on their road trip and 3-3-0 overall as the guest club this season.

Justin Williams had his team's lone goal on Wednesday and Jonathan Bernier allowed three goals on 28 shots.

"We had our chances in the latter part of the second and early in the third, they were excellent looks," Kings head coach Terry Murray said. "They either had people in position, the goaltender made the stop. Sometimes you get second and third whacks at it and it doesn't bounce the right way for you."

The Stars have dropped the first two games of their current residency, including Tuesday's 5-2 setback to the Ducks. Brian Sutherby and Loui Eriksson tallied for Dallas, which has lost three of four since a 4-0 start.

Kari Lehtonen gave up all five goals on 26 shots in his eighth straight start.

"The game came down to special teams," Stars captain Brenden Morrow said. "They had two goals right when penalties expired. We've been on the short end of the special teams battle too many times this year."

Dallas will skate without defenseman Stephane Robidas after he was suspended for one game following a major boarding call in Tuesday's loss. Robidas drilled Ducks forward Matt Beleskey, causing a cut to Beleskey's eye.

The Kings won five of six over the Stars last year and took all three meetings in Dallas, where Los Angeles has won four straight and six of seven. The Kings have won nine of the last 12 in this series overall.

Jonathan Quick, expected to get the start in net for Los Angeles tonight, went 4-1-0 with a 2.36 goals-against average last year versus the Stars. He is 5-1-0 with a 1.95 GAA and .926 save percentage in six starts this season.

Lehtonen has won both of his career meetings with the Kings, stopping 57-of-60 shots faced.
