The Lakers beat the Jazz in three of four regular season meetings last season, including both games in Los Angeles. Utah has lost eight straight regular season games at Staples Center against the Lakers, dating back to 2006. The Lakers have eliminated Utah from the playoffs in each of the last three seasons, including a sweep in last year's Western Conference semifinals.
The Lakers beat the Nuggets last night 102-95, behind a balanced attack. Kobe Bryant played his best game of the preseason, scoring 18 points, grabbing eight rebounds, and dishing out five assists in 24 minutes. Lamar Odom made 7-of-10 shots from the field, ending with 14 points, six rebounds, and seven assists in a team-high 32 minutes. The Lakers had 29 assists on their 38 field goals made.
Rookie forward Devin Ebanks had 14 points and seven rebounds in 24 minutes.
Utah beat the Clippers yesterday afternoon, 103-91, behind 20 points off the bench by forward C.J. Miles. The Jazz are 5-0 this preseason, their best preseason start in franchise history.
