Clippers Head South Of The Border To Play Spurs

The Los Angeles Clippers are set to play their fourth preseason game, but have yet to play a game at Staples Center. They are technically the home team tonight against the San Antonio Spurs, but the game is in Mexico City at Palacios de los Deportes.

Blake Griffin has averaged 16.7 points and 9.7 rebounds per game so far in the preseason, in just 23 minutes per contest. He has made 20 of 27 shots from the field (74.0%), but has struggled mightily from the free throw line, making only 10 of 24 shots from the charity stripe (41.7%), missing at least half of his foul shots in all three games.

The Clippers have lost 16 straight regular season contests to the Spurs, with their last win coming on March 7, 2006.

On Saturday, the Clippers trimmed their preseason roster to 15 by waiving guards Stephen Dennis and Jon Scheyer; and center Jake Voskuhl.

For the first time this season, the Clippers are on television. Today's game, at 5:30 p.m. PDT, is on NBA TV. It is also on radio on KFWB 980.
