USC WR Marqise Lee asked Lane Kiffin to play cornerback

Russ Isabella-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The USC Trojans are considering changes at the cornerback position with their defense struggling.

The USC Trojans have been vulnerable to big plays this season, and that was the case yet again Thursday night as they escaped with a win over the Utah Utes.

As the team flew back to SoCal, reports are that star wide receiver Marqise Lee asked head coach Lane Kiffin if he could play cornerback moving forward.

Here is the latest from USC:

Pedro Moura also tweeted the Trojans could try out Josh Shaw at cornerback this week. Shaw originally committed to Florida and played last season with the Gators, but he elected to transfer over the summer and received a hardship waiver to play immediately.

Through five games this season, USC is allowing an average of 19.4 points to their opponents, which ranks 31st in college football.
