UCLA Bruins Football Commit: Lacy Westbrook

There's a lot of uncertainty in UCLA Bruins football on and off the field. But it looks like recruiting could be on the right track, which is definitely something Rick Neuheisel has excelled at during his UCLA tenure.

Dominguez offensive lineman Lacy Westbrook committed to Westwood earlier this evening.  Westbrook had offers from over 20 schools, including four Pac-12 schools, but the Bruins ended up winning out.  Greg Biggins has more on the story.

"Lacy called up coach [Rick] Neuheisel and committed on Monday," Westbrook’s father Lacy Sr.said. "For a dad, this is a dream come true for me. I can go to every one of his home games and even attend his practices if I want. UCLA has a talented all-around sports program but more importantly to me, it’s one of the most prestigious academic universities in the country.

UCLA will want Westbrook to play guard at the next level, and he definitely shows the girth and power to hold his own in the trenches. The Bruins are starting to really put some talent together in the trenches, and hopefully it can start paying off with better protection for their quarterbacks and more consistent run blocking.

Westbrook should provide UCLA with much needed offensive line depth.
