The city of Los Angeles has been abuzz about a leading candidate for the 2012 Heisman Trophy, but maybe the focus was on the wrong part of town. UCLA Bruins running back Johnathan Franklin continued his stellar senior campaign on Saturday and became the second leading rusher in school history.
Franklin ran for 110 yards on 25 carries on Saturday as the No. 22 Bruins throttled the Houston Cougars 37-6 at the Rose Bowl. Franklin entered the game seventh on the UCLA all-time rushing list, but is now second, trailing only Gaston Green.
