2012 Pac-12 Tournament: Colorado Vs. Arizona: Buffaloes Win It In A Thriller

There was a bit of magic today as No. 6 Colorado Buffaloes stamped its name on the ticket to the NCAA tournament by defeating No. 4 Arizona Wildcats in a thrilling matchup that was close in the closing minutes of the game.

However, the Buffaloes held off a furious rally by the Wildcats and won the Pac-12 tournament today 53-51. The win also marked the first Pac-12 championship won by the Buffaloes in their first year in the league.

With the game seemingly going away from Arizona’s hands, Wildcats’ leading scorers, Jesse Perry, Kyle Fogg, and Solomon Hill tried desperately to get a lead back with 8:25 left to go with the Buffs leading 50-38.

However with three seconds left, Fogg could not convert his three-point jumper and that was the difference as Colorado held on.

Buffaloes’ Spencer Dinwiddie, led a poor shooting offense (38%) with 14 points, but was 100 percent from three-point range.

As bad as Colorado’s shooting was, it was a dog fight on the defensive side of the ball as the Buffs held Arizona to only 36 percent shooting.
