The first half at the Los Angeles Sports Arena on Wednesday night looked awfully similar to the game at Galen Center on January 15 between the UCLA Bruins and USC Trojans. The Bruins again dominated the Trojans in the first half Wednesday night, and took a 31-16 lead at halftime.
David Wear scored six points and grabbed eight rebounds for UCLA, who opened the game with a 6-0 lead and never let USC get close. Travis Wear had six points and six rebounds, and Jerime Anderson scored eight points for the Bruins, who shot 51.9% (14 for 27) from the field in the opening 20 minutes.
Garrett Jackson scored seven points to lead the Trojans, who shot just 24.1% (seven for 29) from the field in the opening half, including missing all seven attempts from three-point range. Byron Wesley had five points and three rebounds for USC, who was outrebounded 24-13 in the first half.
The Bruins have beaten the Trojans two straight times.
