UCLA improved to 8-3 on the season and 6-1 at home with a 89-70 win against Long Beach State on Tuesday.

The UCLA Bruins jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in an 89-70 win against Long Beach State on Tuesday.

Freshamn Jordan Adams led the way for UCLA with 24 points on 8 of 11 shooting. He wasn't, however, the only Bruin freshman to score more than 20 points. Shabazz Muhammad finished with 21 points to go along with six rebounds. Adams and Muhammad were effective early, helping UCLA build a 47-38 halftime lead. The second half was more of the same as UCLA was never challenged and cruised to their eighth victory of the season.

The Bruins shot extremely well on Tuesday, making 58.9 percent of their field goal attempts. UCLA made 8 of 16 three-point attempts while shooting 83.3 percent from the free throw line. In addition to Muhammad and Adams, Larry Drew II and David Wear also scored in double figures. Drew finished with 14 points and nine assists.

UCLA has now won three straight games. The Bruins have two non-conference home games remaining before beginning Pac-12 play.
