The Arizona State Sun Devils have one of the best pass defenses in the country, so the UCLA Bruins have to be prepared to try and run the football and protect the quarterback.
The UCLA Bruins come off their bye week when they take on the Arizona St. Sun Devils this week, and it figures to be a mighty challenge for both sides. UCLA is trying to get their offense going after a few shaky games, and ASU is recovering from the Oregon debacle. Both teams know that the winner of this game keeps their Pac-12 South title hopes in their hands.
Jack Wang of Inside SoCal transcribed UCLA head coach Jim Mora's press conference from Monday. There are certain things Mora focused on. When asked about the ASU loss to Oregon, Mora said Arizona State would have no trouble rebounding from that loss and they would be right back on track for Saturday's game against the Bruins. Mora also talked about Arizona State's tremendous pass rush helping out their top pass defense, and emphasized the importance of blocking in pass protection. Mora also expressed how important it is for UCLA to stop the run in order to hold up the Arizona State offense.
