UCLA's David Wear Positive About Injury During Oregon Game

David Wear was one of the stars of UCLA’s first half against Oregon, but was virtually non-existant in the second half scoring just two points and getting into early foul trouble. Oregon went on to win that game 75-68, and Wear missed that final stretch after tripping over an Oregon player. Wear crashed to the floor awkwardly, and was unable to get up immediately, clutching at his knees in pain.

The second half injury was initially diagnosed as a hyperextended knee, but Wear was upbeat. He contended it wasn’t anything serious, but his coach felt a bit differently.

“Obviously, that could be a big concern moving forward,” said UCLA coach Ben Howland.

Wear is expected to have an MRI either Sunday or Monday morning which will shed more light on the situation. Despite the injury, Wear still finished with the team high in rebounds on Saturday with nine.
