Kevin Love Will Be A Grantland Contributor

Santa Monica product and UCLA alumni Kevin Love has always been considered one of the more intriguing personalities in the league. It figures he'd do some interesting things during the NBA lockout (which could end any day now, I think!).

Love announced on Friday he'd be doing some contributing for Grantland. Considering how fond Grantland editor Bill Simmons is of Love, it's not too surprising that he'd get the invite. Love's first entry isn't full of exciting info. Video games. China trip. Beach volleyball. Actually, the beach volleyball stuff was pretty cool. But there's definitely some hope for future hijinx.

What's more interesting for basketball fans is his strength and training conditioning. Love says he's dropped to under 240 pounds. Considering he was listed at 260 pounds, that's a pretty significant dropoff in weight. Could his rebounding rate be affected positively or negatively based on these developments? A better-conditioned Love could be even more of a beast, but perhaps the lack of girth could make him easier to move?

I'd love to see what happens with the sleeker Love. You know, if the season ever starts.
