UCLA Vs. Oregon State Score Update: Bruins Force Turnovers, Lead 21-10 At Halftime

The UCLA Bruins go into the locker room at halftime with a 21-10 lead over the Oregon State Beavers. The Bruins used the passing game well in the first quarter to set up their first touchdown, and they used the run well in the second period to tack on two more touchdowns.

The Bruin defense came up big early in the period on an interception of Beavers quarterback Sean Mannion. UCLA pounded the ball with running backs Johnathon Franklin and Derrick Coleman until quarterback Richard Brehaut got in on the fun, rushing for a five-yard touchdown score to give them Bruins a 14-3 edge.

After a pair of punts, the Bruin defense forced Mannion to fumble the ball away on the Beaver four-yard line with under five minutesleft. UCLA promptly turned the opportunity into another score on a four-yard run by Jordon James. A late, 85-yard punt return touchdown by Oregon State's Jordan  Poyer closed the gap to 21-10.

Brehaut has 117 yards and one touchdown on five-of-seven passing through the air as well as a one-yard rushing touchdown. Franklin and Coleman have 36 and 44 yards, respectively, on the ground while Josh Smith has 62 yards on one reception through the air.

Oregon State will receive the opening kickoff in the second half.
