UCLA Comes Back To Force Overtime, But Loses To Cal 76-72

Berkeley, CA (Sports Network) - Jorge Gutierrez scored a career-high 34 points, leading California to a 76-72 overtime win against conference rival UCLA. Malcolm Lee buried a running three-pointer at the buzzer for UCLA, sending the game into overtime, but the Bruins were outscored 16-12 the rest of the way to bring an end to their six-game winning streak.

UCLA Faces Cal Seeking Seventh Straight Victory

The UCLA Bruins look for their seventh straight victory tonight as they battle the Cal Bears at Haas Pavilion in Berkeley. The Bruins have won 10 of their last 11 games, and are 16-3 in their last 19 games overall. UCLA beat Cal 86-84 at Pauley Pavilion on January 20 on a tip-in by Reeves Nelson with 2.2 seconds remaining. The Bruins have won six straight times at Berkeley.

UCLA won the first leg of their Bay Area trip on Thursday night, a 69-65 victory over Stanford at Maples Pavilion. Reeves Nelson led the Bruins with 18 points and seven rebounds. Nelson is the Bruins' leading scorer this season at 13.8 points per game, and is one of five Bruins to average in double figures this season. A win tonight would give UCLA the 46th 20-win season in its storied history.

Cal lost to USC 78-75 on Thursday night, their fourth straight defeat. The Bears are 9-5 at home this season, including 4-2 in conference play. UCLA is 4-3 on the road this season, including 4-2 in the Pac-10. Here are tonight's probable starting lineups:
