The UCLA Bruins have fallen to 7-7 with a conference record of 0-2 after losing to the California Bears by a score of 85-69 on Saturday afternoon in Haas Pavilion. This is their second loss in a row after losing to Stanford by one point on Thursday. The Bruins allowed the Bears to pull away in the second half after they went into the locker room at half time trailing by just one point.

The Bruins were led by sophomore guard Tyler Lamb's 26 points and sophomore forward David Wear's 17 points. Those were the only two UCLA players that managed to score double digit points. The rest of the starting lineup combined for 14 points. Joshua Smith, Brendan Lane and Norman Powell came off the bench and combined for 12 points.

Scoring for the Bears was much more evened out among the five starters, who all scored at least 10 points. They were led by sophomore guard Allen Crabbe, who scored 20 points, and senior guard Jorge Gutierrez, who scored 16. The rest of the starting lineup, Justin Cobbs, David Kravish and Harper Kamp, combined for 36 points. Robert Thurman came off the bench to score 11 points, all in the second half, and Bak Bak added two.

The Bruins will attempt to snap their two-game losing streak on Thursday at home against the 9-4 Arizona Wildcats and the Bears will look to extend their winning streak on the road at 10-3 Oregon State on the same day.
