Playing in their first game at the Los Angeles Sports Arena since 2006, the No. 17 UCLA Bruins were stunned by the Loyola Marymount Lions on Friday night, 69-58. It was the first loss for the Bruins to the Lions in 70 years, since a 40-34 defeat in the 1941-1942 season.↵
Center Joshua Smith had just five points and four rebounds in 16 minutes, though he did block three shots in the loss. Despite the loss, Smith was not impressed with the Lions, the West Coast Conference foe who had lost eight consecutive road games. Smith, on Twitter as @YoungChoppz_34, had this to say after the game:↵
Just lost to some straight bums lol...↵
UCLA, playing at the Sports Arena this season while Pauley Pavilion is being renovated, gets their second crack at a Sports Arena win Tuesday night against Middle Tennessee State.↵
