UCLA At Oregon: Bruins Allow 60 Points For 8th Time Since 1919

The Oregon Ducks were 27-point favorites tonight over the UCLA Bruins, and it appears they will come close to covering that point spread in each half. After outscoring the Bruins 32-3 in the first 30 minutes, the Ducks lead the second half 28-10, and have a 60-13 lead with about two minutes left. This is just the eighth time UCLA has allowed 60 or more points since 1919.

UCLA has given up 60 points or more just seven previous times since 1919:

  • October 3, 1919: Manual Arts HS 74, UCLA 0
  • November 20, 1930: Whitter 103, UCLA 0
  • November 5, 1921: Whitter 62, UCLA 0
  • November 14, 1925: Stanford 82, UCLA 0
  • September 28, 1929: USC 76, UCLA 0
  • November 14, 1970: Washington 61, UCLA 20
  • December 2, 2005: USC 66, UCLA 19

The 47-point deficit would be the worst loss for UCLA since losing to BYU 59-0 in 2008. I know the transitive property (If A beat B, and B beat C, A is better than C) doesn't always work in college football, but how bad does Texas (who lost 34-12 to UCLA) look right now?
