Kirby Lee-US PRESSWIRE

It could be a big draw for fans to the Rose Bowl, with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Nebraska Cornhuskers projected to be in Pasadena on New Years Day.

With the No. 2 Oregon Ducks projected to face the No. 1 Kansas State Wildcats in the BCS National Championship in Miami, the No. 3 Notre Dame Fighting Irish are projected to play the No. 14 Nebraska Cornhuskers at the Rose Bowl on New Years Day.

The Fighting Irish remain undefeated on the season and have seen a couple of high-stress, close games go their way. It took three overtimes to get past the Pittsburgh Panthers just a couple of weeks ago at home. Before that, the Irish notched close wins over the BYU Cougars and an overtime win over the Stanford Cardinal. Notre Dame takes on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons this Saturday, before traveling to Los Angeles to take on the No. 18 USC Trojans to wrap up the season.

The Cornhuskers are winners of their last four straight, including a come from behind victory over the Penn State Nittany Lions last weekend, 32-23. They'll stay at home to face the Minnesota Golden Gophers this Saturday before finishing the season in Iowa City against the Iowa Hawkeyes.
