Brandon Roy Rumors: Lakers Not Interested, According To Report

Stay connected for news and updates

According to a report from ESPN's Dave McMenamin, the Los Angeles Lakers are in fact not interested in the services of currently retired guard Brandon Roy despite the speculation earlier in the summer that they may be looking at bringing him back to the league.

According to a source familiar with the team's thinking, the Lakers are not interested in Roy, the former Portland Trail Blazers All-Star guard who retired last December because of knee troubles. Roy, who turns 28 next month, has been working out in L.A. this summer in hopes of returning to the league.

Some teams, such as the Golden State Warriors, are said to still be eyeing Roy as he tries to make a return to the NBA, but comes with a significant amount of risk with his very troublesome history of knee problems. Hopefully some team will be willing to give him a chance.
