Pau Gasol Rumors: Lakers Shopping Former All-Star, According To Report

According to a report from ESPN's Chad Ford and Marc Stein, the Los Angeles Lakers are actively shopping big man Pau Gasol, checking in with a number of teams to guage their interest in the former All-Star.

Sources told ESPN.com that the Lakers have been contacting teams in an effort to acquire a top-10 pick in Thursday's draft. The Lakers also are seeking an established player along with the pick if they're to part with Gasol.

A deal was not imminent as of Wednesday afternoon.

Despite the fact that Lakers brass has been saying that a 'major trade' was unlikely this offseason, Gasol's value may be best served as part of a trade to get a young gun in this year's draft. There would have to be quite a sweet deal for the Lakers to move a player like Pau for a draft pick deal.
