Delonte West scored 16 points to lead the Dallas Mavericks to a 54-48 halftime lead over the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday afternoon at Staples Center. The Lakers are in search of their fourth straight win and, though they are without Kobe Bryant for a fifth straight contest, are looking for a season sweep of the Mavericks.
West made eight of 11 field goals for the Mavericks, who shot 55.0% (22 of 40) in the opening 24 minutes. Dirk Nowtizki added seven rebounds for Dallas, but he scored just five points on 2-of-10 shooting.
Ramon Sessions led the Lakers with 10 points and three assists. Andrew Bynum had nine points and six rebounds, though on just 4-of-13 shooting. Matt Barnes added five points, six rebounds, and three assists off the bench for the Lakers, who shot 39.5% (17 for 43) in the first half.
