The Los Angeles Lakers are coming off perhaps their biggest victory of the season with their road triumph against the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday, thanks in part to 30 rebounds from Andrew Bynum in the win. Now, with Kobe Bryant closer to returning after missing three games with a shin injury, the Lakers return home to Staples Center for a three-game homestand against likely playoff teams. Here is the Lakers' weekend schedule:
Friday - Denver Nuggets at Lakers (7:30 p.m., Fox Sports West): The Lakers are 19-4 all-time at Staples Center against the Nuggets, including 7-3 in their last 10 matchups in Los Angeles. This season, the Lakers have won two of the three matchups, including one home win and one win in Denver.
Saturday - Dallas Mavericks at Lakers (12:30 p.m., ABC): While the payback is no way comparable, the Lakers get a chance at a small measure of revenge against Dallas, the team that swept them out of the NBA playoffs last season. This season, the Lakers are 3-0 against the defending champion Mavericks, including two wins in Dallas.

Andrew Bynum pulled down a career high 30 rebounds as the Los Angeles Lakers had one of their most impressive victories of the season Wednesday night, a 98-84 road triumph over the San Antonio Spurs at AT&T Center. The win concluded a three-game trip for the Lakers, and was without Kobe Bryant, who missed his third straight game with a shin injury.
Bynum had 19 of his 30 rebounds in the first half. His 30 rebounds are an NBA high this season, and he is the fifth Laker ever to have 30 boards in one game, and the first since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on February 3, 1978, per Kevin Ding of the Orange County Register. Bynum also had 16 points and two blocked shots.
The Lakers led by five points at halftime, but used a 27-16 third quarter to take a commanding lead. Danny Green led San Antonio with 22 points on the night.
The Lakers return home to host the Denver Nuggets Friday night.

Andrew Bynum controlled the middle in the first half in San Antonio with 10 points, 19 rebounds and a blocked shot, leading the Los Angeles Lakers to a 48-43 halftime lead over the San Antonio Spurs at AT&T Center. The Lakers are finishing up a three-game road trip, with Kobe Bryant missing all three road contests.
Bynum made five of 15 shots in the first half for his 10 points, but was a major factor on defense as well. In addition to the 19 rebounds, Bynum helped hold the Spurs to 42.5% shooting. Bynum also had eight offensive rebounds. Bynum's career high is 23 rebounds.
Pau Gasol added 11 points and five rebounds for the Lakers, and Matt Barnes scored 11 off the bench.
Tim Duncan led a balanced scoring attack for the Spurs with eight points, one of five Spurs with at least six points.

The Los Angeles Lakers won't have Kobe Bryant on Wednesday night as they conclude their three-game road trip, as they face a well-rested San Antonio Spurs squad at AT&T Center. Here are the relevant details for the NBA battle between the current No. 2 and No. 3 seeds in the Western Conference.
Records: Lakers (36-22, No. 3 in West); Spurs (40-15, No. 2 in West)
Location: AT&T Center in San Antonio
Time: 5:30 p.m. PDT
TV: KCAL
Kobe Out: Bryant will miss his third straight game with a left shin injury, technically termed tenosynovitis. Devin Ebanks gets the start at shooting guard, and has averaged nine points and three rebounds in 29 minutes over the last two games.
Rested Spurs Stars: San Antonio had their 11-game winning streak snapped on Monday in Utah with a 91-84 loss to the Jazz. Spurs coach Greg Popovich sat stars Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili for that game, something he has done multiple times in this compacted NBA season.
Get Used To Eeach Other: Amazingly, the Lakers and Spurs haven't played each other yet this season, but the two teams will face one another three times over the next 10 days. The Lakers return to San Antonio on April 20, and host the Spurs at Staples Center on April 17.

When Kobe Bryant sits out his third game in a row, you know the Lakers guard really has an injury that has to be treated. Bryant will not play in Wednesday's game against the San Antonio Spurs.
Kobe Bryant (shin) will miss his 2nd straight game tonight at New Orleans.

Kobe's injury is on that sore left shin, which apparently would just flare up everytime he does try to play while it's still in this condition.
The Lakers have had mixed results with Kobe out. They did edge out a win against a moribund New Orleans Hornets team on Monday, but that was after getting routed in Phoenix by the surging Suns by 20. Safe to say that the San Antonio is a much stiffer test than either of those two teams and they'll have their hands full trying to guard the effiicent San Antonio machine.
