Kobe Bryant Named Western Conference Player Of The Month

Stay connected for news and updates

The Los Angeles Lakers have faced their fair share of struggles this season, but Kobe Bryant continues to play at an incredible pace despite a bad wrist and aging body. After averaging 30 points, six rebounds and a little more than five assists on a nightly basis in the month of January (and the final week of December), Bryant took home the award for Western Conference Player Of The Month. He previously claimed two Player Of The Week honors, as well.

LeBron James of the Miami Heat claimed the award for the Eastern Conference. The star forward averaged a little more than 29 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in December and January.

Lakers fans can only hope Bryant remains healthy and continues to lead Los Angeles to victory. As for tonight's game, tipoff against the Denver Nuggets will be at 7:30 PT. The team has struggled on the road thus far in 2012 and will need a big night from more than just Kobe if they hope to win.
