On Thursday in Boston, Kobe Bryant he hadn't seen or paid attention to how Jeremy Lin was doing. On Friday night, Kobe got an up close and personal view of Lin absolutely destroying the Los Angeles Lakers with 38 points en route to a 92-85 New York Knicks win at Madison Square Garden.
The loss snapped a nine-game winning streak by the Lakers over the Knicks, with their last loss coming on February 13, 2007.
Bryant wasn't too shabby himself with 34 points and 10 rebounds, but the story of the night was Lin, who had the home crowd on its feet on several occasions.
Pau Gasol had 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Lakers, who shot just 37.5% on the night. Andrew Bynum had 13 rebounds and three blocks in 35 minutes, but scored just three points on 1-of-8 shooting. The Lakers fell to 2-3 on their six-game road trip, which concludes Sunday afternoon in Toronto. The Lakers are 4-10 on the road this season.
