Russ Isabella-US PRESSWIRE

The Los Angeles Lakers will have two chances to right the ship this weekend as they try to improve upon their sluggish start to the season.

The NBA schedule on Friday includes the Houston Rockets visiting the Memphis Grizzlies on NBATV and the Utah Jazz heading to Denver to face the Nuggets among its 13 games.

The Los Angeles Lakers will try to notch just their second win of the season when they host the Golden State Warriors in Staples Center on Friday. Four players average double figures for the Warriors, led by Stephen Curry (17.4) and Carl Landry (17.0).

Nine games will tip off Saturday, including the Dallas Mavericks traveling to Charlotte to face the Bobcats on NBATV and the Boston Celtics battling the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Lakers will host the Sacramento Kings on Sunday in one of five games on the NBA schedule. The Kings are 2-3 behind their big man DeMarcus Cousins, who is averaging 18.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game.

The Grizzlies will host the defending champion Miami Heat on Sunday.
