Nash had two points, four rebounds and four assists against the Trail Blazers before the injury, after scoring seven points and dishing out four assists in the Lakers' season-opening loss to the Dallas Mavericks.

Los Angeles Lakers point guard Steve Nash will miss at least one week with what the team is calling "a small, non-displaced fracture in the head of his fibula."

Nash, 38, underwent an examination from team doctor Steve Lombardo, and later had an MRI scan to determine the extent of the injury, after hurting his left leg during the second quarter of Wednesday's 116-106 road loss to the Portland Trail Blazers. Nash had two points, four rebounds and four assists at the time of the injury, after scoring seven points and dishing out four assists in the Lakers' season-opening loss to the Dallas Mavericks.

According to John Schuhmann of NBA.com, Nash will miss action for one week then be re-examined. The Lakers acquired Nash in an offseason deal that sent two first-round and two second-round draft picks to the Phoenix Suns.

After a Friday-night loss to the Clippers, the Lakers will next see the court at home against the Pistons on Sunday. Steve Blake is expected to start in Nash's place.
