The Los Angeles Lakers are becoming thinner and thinner at the point guard position with each passing game.

Los Angeles Lakers backup point guard Steve Blake will miss practice Monday due to an abdominal strain, according to ESPN Los Angeles.

Blake suffered the injury in the first quarter of Sunday's 103-90 win over the Sacramento Kings and was in and out of the lineup throughout the night. Although he manged to play through the injury, Blake is scheduled for an ultrasound Tuesday after his brief rest.

This news is especially troubling, since Blake has been starting in the place of the injured Steve Nash (leg fracture). The next man up for the Lakers is second-year point guard Darius Morris, who has seen action in every game since Nash went down.

Morris logged seven points, three assists and two rebounds in the 22 minutes he was on the court Sunday evening. On the season, the Michigan product is averaging 6.6 points, 2.2 assists and 1.8 rebounds per game.

The Lakers are set to take the court again this Tuesday with a challenging Western Conference showdown against the San Antonio Spurs scheduled for that night.
