"We're a little ahead of where I thought we'd be offensively. Defensively we're about where we should be," Brown said, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The Lakers are attempting to install a hybrid of the Princeton offense while also integrating Dwight Howard and Steve Nash into the starting lineup. To make matters even more of a challenge, they've had to do it all while dealing with injuries to Kobe Bryant and Howard.
Still, Brown and Bryant are confident in where they are in the process with just two preseason games to play. Bryant said the current group has had an easy time adjusting to each other on the court and now they just need to get the nuances and timing down on offense.
While they have made progress, Nash said they still have a lot of work to do and will likely be on the learning curve throughout the season. He said he hopes the team improves all season and into the playoffs as they learn and find new ways to execute.
The Lakers will play two more preseason games before opening the regular season on October 30.
