The Los Angeles Lakers are looking to get back on track after a tough weekend and the team played a strong first half against the Houston Rockets. At the break, the Lakers lead 50-46 behind the efforts of Kobe Bryant and Andrew Bynum.

Bryant, who continues to be bothered by a bad wrist, led all scorers with 15 points and brought down four rebounds, as well. Bynum, who is playing for just the third time after serving a suspension to begin the season, already has a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds. Pau Gasol started off slowly but ended the half with eight points and five rebounds.

The Rockets are hanging tough at Staples Center and were led by Luis Scola and his 15 points thus far. Kevin Martin had a rough shooting half (2-for-10) and struggled with lockdown defense from Bryant and Metta World Peace. Chase Budinger has played well and has hit two 3-pointers. The second half is just about to begin.
