The Los Angeles Lakers NBA championship hopes may rest in the MRI that will take place Wednesday morning. Lakers center Andrew Bynum injured his right knee, technically a hyper-extension, in the second quarter Tuesday night against the San Antonio Spurs at Staples Center. Bynum walked off the court under his own power, but with a noticeable limp.
Bynum will not return for tonight's game, and is out for Wednesday's regular season finale in Sacramento as well. Bynum will undergo an MRI exam Wednesday morning to determine the severity of the injury. Bynum is averaging 11.5 points and 9.5 rebounds this season, and his stellar play, especially on the defensive end, helped fuel a 17-1 run by the Lakers after the All-Star break.
