2011 Grammy Awards: Cee Lo Is The Reason Your Teams Are On Long Road Trips

In case you were wondering just why the Lakers, Clippers, and Kings are all on epic road trips right now, the answer is simple: Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, and Bob Dylan, to name a few. Those three, in addition to other music luminaries past and present, make up the annual spectacle known as the Grammy Awards. The annual biggest night in the music industry is at Staples Center tonight, for the 11th time in the last 12 years.

The preparation for the massive event kicked the three sports tenants out of the Staples Center for roughly two weeks. Each of them are in the middle of their longest road trip of the season. The Lakers are thriving, with four wins in the first five games of their seven-game road trip. The Kings are on fire as well, starting their 10-game trip at 4-0-2, with a point in six straight games (and nine straight games overall). The Clippers, however, are suffering, at just 1-5 in the first six games of their eight-game trek.

Sure, it might be a hassle for the three local teams to be living out of a suitcase for a few weeks (and it's not like they're staying at a Motel 6), and I'm sure they too are wondering just what happened to Bob Dylan's voice. But it's all worth it when you know they sacrificed for a great cause. Namely, so Cee Lo could wear this outfit and be seen by millions (per the amazing 30FPS):

The next sporting event scheduled at Staples Center is scheduled for February 22, when the Lakers host the Hawks.
