Lakers Vs. Celtics: Shaquille O'Neal Likely Out, But All Six All-Stars Will Play

Stay connected for news and updates

Even though the Los Angeles Lakers will meet the Boston Celtics for the final time in the regular season tonight, this won't be the last time many of these players will face each other on the court. Between the two teams, there are six NBA All-Stars who will face off on the court on Feb. 20 at Staples Center in Los Angeles. The Lakers were rumored in the last few days to have interest in adding another All-Star in Carmelo Anthony, but that doesn't seem a likely deal. Another former All-Star and former Laker, Shaquille O'Neal, is day-to-day, currently resting a sore right leg.

Kobe Bryant had the highest All-Star vote total in the NBA, and will start at guard for the West on Feb. 20, and will be joined by Pau Gasol, who was selected as a reserve. There is a chance Gasol will be named as starting center to replace Yao Ming, who is out for the season. Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, and Rajon Rondo of the Celtics were all selected as Eastern Conference reserves.

Here is a look at tonight's probable starting lineups:

Lakers (36-16)

Celtics (38-13)

  • Point Guard: Rajon Rondo
  • Shooting Guard: Ray Allen
  • Small Forward: Paul Pierce
  • Power Forward: Kevin Garnett
  • Center: Kendrick Perkins
