NBA Kills Proposed Chris Paul Trade To Los Angeles Lakers, According To Reports

Well, it appears the reported three-team trade to bring Chris Paul to the Los Angeles Lakers is now dead. Paul was to join the Lakers, with Pau Gasol going to the Houston Rockets and Lamar Odom and others to the New Orleans Hornets. However, caving into pressure from other NBA owners irate at the deal involving the league-owned Hornets, the league has killed the deal.

"'The deal is off,' a source involved in the talks tells Y! Sports. 'It's dead.'," tweeted Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports on Thursday night. Wojnarowski also reported that all players involved in the deal have been told to report to their respective training camps on Friday.

As for Paul himself, he may have summed up everything perfectly with one of the shortest tweets ever:

We'll see what the ramifications of this trade are when the players show up to their new old teams on Friday.
