The Los Angeles Kings have assigned Andrei Loktionov to the Manchester Monarchs of the AHL. Before he was with Los Angeles, Loktionov skated in Voskresensk for the HC Khimik hockey school. Loktionov then signed with Lokomotiv Yaroslavl before eventually relocating to the Kings. He started playing for the Kings in the 2009-10 season, and has played a total of 59 games with the club, registering seven goals and seven assists over three seasons.
Other names that the Kings are sending down to Manchester include left wing Andy Andreoff, goalie J.F. Berube, center Robert Czarnik, defender Nicolas Deslauriers, goalie Martin Jones, David Kolomatis, right winger Brandon Kozun,, center Jordan Nolan, right winger Brian O'Neill, left wings Tanner Pearson and Nikolay Prokhorkin, center Tyler Toffoli, right winger Linden Vey and center Jordan Weal.
The NHL lockout is considered the impetus for most of those assignments for the Kings. The AHL will definitely experience a boon in talented players.
