New Jersey Devils Best LA Kings Again 2-1, Series Goes To Game Six

The Los Angeles Kings lost to the New Jersey Devils 2-1 tonight in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals at Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. On the first NJ goal, Jonathan Quick gave away the puck in front of the net while chasing down a lose puck, and on the second there was a tip in off the back of a Kings defender. The close game came down to the last few possessions, but the Kings just couldn't find a way to win for the second straight elimination game.

On the first goal, Quick left the net to retrieve a puck that was sitting back by the boards. His pass was lazy, and the giveaway led to Zach Parise stuffing in it as Quick scrambled to get back in the net.

The Kings were able to tie it up in the second period with a wrist shot from Williams. However, the Devils were able to retake the lead four minutes later with a Bryce Salvador slap shot that bounced off a Kings defender and into the net.

The Kings had a goal disallowed, when Jarret Stoll got one past Martin Brodeur on a Carter rebound, but his stick was too high.

Game six will be Monday at the Staples Center.
