The Los Angeles Kings currently hold a 3-0 lead in their Western Conference semifinals series against the St. Louis Blues. They stand on the threshold of ushering the Blues from the 2012 NHL Stanley Cup playoffs and advancing to the conference finals. What's more, they have an opportunity to clinch and advance on home ice in Game 4 on Sunday afternoon.
Should the Kings complete the sweep -- should they win this series at all, they will have an opportunity to win the Western Conference for just the second time in franchise history. If they can accomplish that, it will be the first time the team has reached the Stanley Cup finals in 19 years. They are likely to match up against their division rivals the Phoenix Coyotes in the conference finals. The Coyotes currently hold a 3-1 lead over the Nashville Predators in the other semifinal.
Neither the Kings, Blues, Coyotes nor Predators has ever won the Stanley Cup.
The puck will drop on Sunday's game at noon PT. The game will be televised nationally on NBC.
