Kings Vs. Blues, 2012 NHL Playoffs Game 3: Kings Lead 3-1 After Second Period

After two periods of play, the Kings lead the Blues by a score of 3-1. The Kings are 20 minutes away from taking a commanding 3-0 advantage in the best-of-seven series.

The Los Angeles Kings and St. Louis Blues traded goals in the opening minutes of the second period. At the 1:13 mark, Chris Stewart got the Blues on the board with a 10-foot backhanded shot assisted by Kris Russell, tying the game at 1-1. Less than a minute later, Dwight King helped the Kings reclaim the lead with a 26-foot wristshot assisted by Matt Greene.

Halfway through the second period, the Kings extended their lead when Mike Richards put in a wristshot from 16-feet out on a power play, assisted by Anze Kopitar and Drew Doughty.

The Kings are dominating offensively, holding an 18-10 shots on goal edge over the Blues through two periods.
