The Los Angeles Kings may be the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference, but that has not stopped them from already knocking off one top-seed and potentially another this week. With a 2-0 series lead on the St. Louis Blues, the Kings return home to L.A. to claim a commanding three-game lead in the best-of-seven series.

After one period of play, the Kings lead the Blues by a score of 1-0.

At the 13:33 mark of the first period, Justin Williams scored his second goal of the series. He was assisted by Drew Doughty and Anze Kopitar. As a team, the Kings out-shot the Blues 8-4.

It was a pretty physical first 20 minutes, with a total of five penalties being called. Mike Richards and Jamie Langenbrunner were both handed five minute majors for fighting.

For the most part, the Kings dominated the first period. There is still a long way to go, but this club has all of the momentum in the series. Taking a 3-0 lead tonight would be absolutely huge.
